Hi! I am new to this descussion and i just wanted to say how much I like these books. I find the animals very fun but it was confusing when I first started the books. I did not know what was going on because i started in the middle of the series (I think. But I love the way the cat writes the books and writes a letter to the "human beans" Does anyone have any recomandations on other mysteries that are good? Thanks bye "Koko"

I just want to say how much I enjoy Sneaky Pie's books, the characters and the illustrations, especially the first ones. Thanks Ms Brown, from Costa Rica!

I have been reading the Sneaky Pie Mysteries for a few months now, I ran across them by accident and am so glad that I did. I love them. I have read all but 2 of them and hope to get to them soon. I just don't want them to end. I have also read a few of Rita Mae's other books and hope to continue with them also. I loved Riding Shotgun, that is such a cool name and a very interesting story. Keep up the good work and keep writing.

If you enjoy the Mrs. Murphy mysteries, you will love the Fox Hunting books. There is one stand alone book on fox hunting, "Riding Shotgun" and three that are a series. "Full Cry", Hotspur", and "Outfoxed". These are Rita Mae at her best. They are beautifly written and a pleasure to read. Her characters are people you would love for friends. Ms. Brown's autobiography "Rita Will" is also a great read. I stayed up all night reading it and then read the earlier books, "Six of One, Binge and Loose Lips. This woman is really a great writer.

I LOVE the Mrs. Murphy books and have read all of them! I absolutely love the humor in them and often look at my dog as I read it wondering if that is what she really thinks - especially the comments about how hard humans are to train ;-) While I wait for the next one to come out does anyone have any suggestions for other similar books? Thank you very much for your help.

Cat's Eyewitness: It’s no secret that cats are a mystery writer’s best friend. Just ask the bestselling team of Rita Mae Brown and her furry partner, Sneaky Pie Brown, back on the prowl with another unforgettable whodunit. This time a controversial miracle in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains sparks religious fervor–and a suspicious death...

A new book! We've been waiting and watching for a new trip to Crozet! My own feline (named after Sneaky Pie Brown 10 years ago)is waiting as well. :-) Rita Mae Brown spins her stories around everyday folks and invites you into the family. Dare we hope she's at work on yet another Mrs. Murphy mystery?

Does anyone know if there was a TV movie based on Rita Mae Brown's Mrs. Murphy mysteries? I seem to remember seeing it. Appreciate any info i.e. title, production company, availability. Thanks

The title was "Murder, She Purred: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery" from 1998, and did indeed star Ricki Lake.

Regardless of how you felt about the made-for-TV movie adaptation, I have to recommend the series. The movie was drastically changed, as it had to be suitable for families. The book series, on the other hand, is a bit more edgy - introducing various situations from adultery to religion, and murder. I personally enjoyed the film. However, even I will admit that it was a far cry from the book it was based on. In fact, if anything, the film was nothing more than loosely based on Rita Mae Brown's characters. Still enjoyable, though.
