Clancy, Tom
Author Tom Clancy was shot into the literary spotlight when his first novel was touted by US President Reagan--and his military thrillers have found a home on the bestseller lists ever since.

What I don't understand is why there aren't more Clancy fans writing here! Because with as many #1 Bestsellers as he has had (not to mention the movies and TV shows) you know there are a lot more of us addicts around. My entire family waits in eager anticipation for each new book to come out, then we pass them around and discuss the characters and events for hours!
Does anybody know if there are more Jack Ryan books planned? And when is the next movie (hopefully with Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan) due?
Tom Clancy is really great. I am looking forward to reading more of his books. The Hunt for Red October was good, I have watched it several times. I would like to compare the book to the movie. I am afraid that Harrison Ford would look awfully cramped in a Sub!! I liked Alex Baldwin as Jack Ryan, at least in this one.
I read Patriot Games a few years back and thought it was a great story dealing with the IRA, Irish-Americans, Britain, and family life in the Chesapeake Bay area.

I'm a Clancy fan!! I'm reading them in order, and I'm working on Executive Orders. I've only seen Hunt for Red OCtober and Patriot Games. I haven't managed to be at home when Clear and Present Danger comes on yet.
I've read all the Op-Center books, and I like the Power Plays, too.
I can hardly wait for the movie version of Sum of All Fears to come out this summer!
I just started reading his books but I have been watching the movies of the books forever. I want to read them in order but I cant find a recent list of them. I could find the order by reading the desrcriptions. It would work cuz he gets promoted almost every book. That would kinda ruin the series 4 me though. So can anyone help me out?
What does the phrase "clear and present danger" mean?
I NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAS READ TOM CLANCY'S POLITIKA. I HAVE A REPORT AND IF SOMEONE COULD BE SO KIND AS TO HELP ME, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU!
Good books, but it looks like he is done with Jack Ryan. From what I have read, "The teeth of the tiger" is the last book in the ryanverse.
I really enjoyed Ryan as a character. He was one of those few characters that seemed like he could be a real person in real situations. He never really knew if he was making the right choices until his job was done.
I wouldnt mind having Clark and Ding spun off. I liked Rainbow six and there is plenty of potential for things to write about.

Clayton, I found information suggesting that the books should be read in this order:
Without Remores
Patriot Games
The Red Rabbit
Hunt for Red October
Cardinal of the Kremlin
Clear and Present Danger
Sum of all Fears
Debt of Honor
Executive Orders
Rainbow Six
The Bear and the Dragon
The Teeth of the Tiger (said to be the last Ryan book)
Hi,
I'm a big Tom Clancy fan, and have read all of the Jack Ryan books, although I can't get into the franchised titles. I wondered if you might be interested in this review of "The Sum of all Fears":
