I picked up "Rescue" a few years ago on a whim, and within 3 weeks, I had read the rest of the series, was combing through old issues of Ellery Queen to find his short stories (since collected in a book), and I just think he's great. I grew up in Boston, and he does paint a wonderfully evocative picture of that city. Cuddy is great!
