Reginald Hill's Dalziel/Pascoe series has become a staple for those interested in suspense-filled British mysteries.

Robin Gass - 04:45pm Nov 16, 1999 PST(#1 of 4)

FROM: APACHE BEACH PUBLICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

George C. Chesbro and Mongo return in the following trade paperback editions:

1. SHADOW OF A BROKEN MAN 2. CITY OF WHISPERING STONE 3. AN AFFAIR OF SORCERERS 4. THE BEASTS OF VALHALLA 5. TWO SONGS THIS ARCHANGEL SINGS 6. THE COLD SMELL OF SACRED STONE 7. SECOND HORSEMAN OUT OF EDEN 8. THE FEAR IN YESTERDAY'S RINGS 9. DARK CHANT IN A CRIMSON KEY 10. THE LANGUAGE OF CANNIBALS

Critics have been lavish in their praise of this classic mystery series:

  • "Chesbro's wild roller-coaster rides mix detection with science fiction and fantasy but keep a center of humanity and rationality in the amazing Mongo, one of the greatest characters of recent mystery fiction." Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine
  • "Not quite science fiction and suspense make a thrilling combination, and nobody works it better than Chesbro . . . Raymond Chandler meets Stephen King by way of Alice's looking glass." Playboy

Although his books have been out of print for years, interest in Chesbro and his delightful creation has steadily increased among a growing legion of fans who have heard about Mongo only by word of mouth to the point where many first editions of the Mongo novels sell for hundreds of dollars.

It is expected that sales will be brisk.

    Distributed by Ingram.

I am looking to purchase (or even rent) any of the television episodes from the BBC/A&E series "Dalziel and Pascoe" Does anyone know where I might obtain them?

    Valerie Zalewski - 09:58am Dec 5, 2004 PST(#3 of 4)

I would really like to hear from anyone who gets the same enjoyment I do from the Joe Sixsmith series. I love Dalziel and Pascoe especially the early ones, but have a really soft spot for Sixsmith and Whitey!

Dalziel and Pascoe unfortunately have yet to be released on dvd/video.
