Jance, J.A.
J.A. Jance is the author of two popular series. The first features hard-boiled Seattle Homicide Detective, J.P. Beaumont. Titles in this series include: Injustice for All; Taking the Fifth; Trial by Fury; Until Proven Guilty and many more.
The second series features Joanna Brady, who became an Arizona County Sheriff after her father and husband died on the job. Among those titles are: Dead to Rights; Desert Heat; Rattlesnake Crossing; Shoot Don't Shoot and Skeleton Canyon.
Jance gives us yet another heroine in her latest novel, Fatal Error, Ali Reynolds. The story begins with Ali Reynolds, the oldest cadet enrolled in the Arizona Police Academy, where she has endured the jokes for being in her forties and the extra roughness given her especially from the male recruits and instructors. We suppose that our Ali will go back to her local Police Force and be promoted to full fledged Police Officer … NOT SO FAST ... she sits in the office waiting to be re-hired only to find that she has been "furloughed" … yep fired!
Just as Ali sends her parents on a cruise, she takes over running their country style diner thinking of her future plans and her “cougar“ status with her amazing much younger lover, B. Simpson who happens to run a company staffed by the best hackers and computer experts available.
Ali abuses her boyfriend‘s company staff as she pushes them to break the law to help her chase down these dangerous killers. What she seems to want is to be a Police Officer; to take on a just cause, an urgent crime that she can get her teeth into. Ali gets just what she asked for - a case she gets her teeth, her arms, legs, head and even her heart into this one! Ali recklessly attacks this case even though she is putting her future career as a cop in some serious jeopardy by running over a razor‘s edge with breaking laws.

You can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave!
Due in February:
After J. A. Jance's major departure with her previous book, the chilling thriller Kiss of the Bees, the
bestselling author returns to her immensely popular J. P. Beaumont series with the fresh and often funny
Birds of Prey. Fans will delight in this latest entry in the life of retired homicide detective Beaumont, as he
takes a cruise into mayhem and comes face to face with cold-blooded murder once again.
I live in Cochise COunty and it is so amazing how much of her stories are based on fact. My favorite are the Joanna Brady books. They grab me and drag me into her reality.
Could you give me a list of the JP Beaumont books,in the order they were published.
After Devil's Claw, will there be anymore Joanne Brady novels? I enjoy these books and hope that there will be more.
Dear J.A. JANCE: I live in Apache Junction, AZ and saw the item in the local paper a few wks ago about you visiting your parents a few blocks from where I live. I belong to the Apache Junction Writer's Club...we meet days every first and third Wednesday of the month, nights: every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Is it possible that the next time you visit your parents, you could maybe come and give a lil talk to our talented group? My number is 480-671-1303 if you think this could ever happen in my lifetime. We would be so thrilled if you could come and see us for a few minutes. We meet at the Apache Junction library. Thank you for your time. Sandy Thompson
I read J. A. Jance for a long time before discovering she was a woman. Her J.P. Beaumont books are the greatest detective stories ever - had a hard time accepting this was written by a female from a male perspective. She is truly the most gifted and talented storyteller of our time!
I finally discovered J.A. Jance a couple of years ago. I wanted something to read and found one of her books from the Beaumont series. I read it in one day and went back to the store to try and find every book in the series so I could read them from the start. I also picked up her Joanna Brady novels, which are great reads too. Her books are like Lay's potato chips, you can't read just one. I look forward to every new book with great anticipation. Thank you J.A. Jance and keep those books coming!
Love J.A. Jance work. Her characters are wonderful and the stories are great. Looking forward to the next one.
DO THEY HAVE JA JANCE ON AUDIO CASSETTES.HOW DO I FIND OUT. SKELETON CANYON.
I like the Brady books, but not the
Beaumont ones. This is odd for me
because, usually, if I enjoy an author I
like everything he/she writes.
I understand that J.A.Jance has a new book due out in August 2003. Any information available? Will there be any author visits in Seattle or Spokane?
