Does anyone remember a newer Columbo where a rich man's wife runs away and he is suspected of killing her, however, she returns and is alive! Then he gets the bright idea that he will actually murder her and make it look like she ran away! He murders his wife in their bedroom. They were having their bedroom remodeled and he puts her in the beams - and the next day the construction guys drywall her body in the cavity of the walls without knowing it. The husband also put her purse in there because he was trying to make it look like she had ran away (and would have taken her purse). Anyway Columbo calls her cell phone (I think) and somehow they discover the body that way. Anyway, I would ike to know if this rings any bells because I want to find what this episode was called. Anyone remember this one? What is it called. Answer to

Was there actually a Mrs Columbo? Was Columbo gay?

Gay???!!! What would give you that idea? There was a Mrs. Columbo - he talked about her all the time. Later, a series was made about Mrs. Columbo starring Kate Mulgrew in the title role.

This is to 5/1/2005 I believe it was Diedre Hall in the wall & the watch beeping I remember quite well.

I however have a new question for everyone. I remember jack Cassidy in one Columbo, however recently discovered Jack starred in 2 Columbo episodes! I know the one was a magician, but don't know the other one.

1. Is there any website or other source that gives access to Columbo movie scripts? Why do I ask? Much as I love the way Peter Falk speaks I miss some of his lines or those of the characters around him while watching. I am a non-native English speaker and have a thing about understanding every word people say.

Murder by the Book

First aired: 9/15/1971 Ken Franklin (Jack Cassidy) is the untalented writer but skilled PR agent of a mystery book writing team that created detective Mrs. Melville. He kills his partner and the real writer, Jim Ferris, because Ferris is planning on breaking up the team and writing on his own. Franklin uses an elaborate scheme to make it appear as if Ferris were killed by mobsters because his next story, an expose on the mafia, would incriminate them. Franklin's plan is perfect except that a fan of Mrs. Melville, Lilly La Sanka, saw him.

Hello Christy: Afraid I can't answer the question about the Lt.'s children with 100% accuracy. My impression from watching the series was that they were childless. The "Mrs.Columbo" series was a cheap attempt by NBC to capitalize on the success of Falk's show. Levinson & Link refused to participate, but the network went ahead with it. It was almost impossible to believe that Kate was the Lt.'s wife (for one thing, Kate Mulgrew is young enough to be Peter Falk's daughter). Audiences didn't buy it, and halfway through the season the title was changed to "Kate Loves a Mystery", and all references to Falk's classic detective ended. The show met its well-deserved fate in less than a year. Hope this helps a little. Best always, Chris.
