Thanks so much! I understood most of the past episode, but it really helps to know everything that went on.
Hi all, My husband and I have been NYPD and Homicide fans since the beginning, though we have both wavered on which show is our personal favorite. I kinda lost interest for a while after Caruso and Amy Brenneman left. Her's was a great character too. I have to agree, Russell, is not one of my favorites on NYPD but I have to admit that Kirkendal is growing on me since they've started to show a little more of her personal life. I really got back into the show this past season, partly to see how they sent Jimmy Smits character off and also because I've enjoyed watching Rick Shroeder grow up. I have to say that anyone who has seen The Champ and not been moved to tears by his performance at such a young age has to have a low sensitivity level. In the past few years watching the made for TV movies he's made, some better than others, you could really see his growth as an actor. I was really looking forward to seeing him on NYPD and have not been disappointed all season. I think he's done a fine job of replacing Jimmy Smits. It's always hard to get into a show and then watch a lead character leave. But sometimes when the show is stong enough in other areas it can survive ie, Homocide with Pembelton. I didn't think it would happen. Though it was for a short time. My only complaint with NYPD is Fancy's character. I love him. And there have been too few shows about him and his personal life. They've delved in depth into the other characters and not him. Wonder why.
I like how things are starting to develop with all the characters. I am, however, disappointed about the death of Sylvia. I thought for sure they would find another way to make the character go away. I think Andy has too much death in his life. His son, his partner and now his wife. That's alot for a recovering alcoholic. They left a huge opening for Andy to jump off the wagon.
How long until the season starts?????!!!!
Just read the new TV guide issue, preview to next season. Martinez is gone and there seems to be a new romantic interest for Sorensen. I think that will be more believable. A romance between him and Russel just doesn't seem plausible. I'm also kind of biased because I've never really been able to "like" her character. Especially last season with her nasty attitude towards Sorensen.
We all really keep up on this thing don't we? Oh well! I keep wondering when the season is going to start. I know they usually wait until the fall shows are in place and all that, but sometimes I think they wait a little too long!

You can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave!
Micaela, there was a dispute over the decision that was being considered to move NYPD from its 10 pm Tuesday timeslot. Looks like they won that round. So, no one has an opinion about the season finale?
A hardcore fan can tell me where the set is filmed in its exact location. Upcoming stars want to know. (iamthenextjuliaroberts@yahoo.com)
