Yes, you throw rocks at it. And I think the wind speed and direction thing may be random--but i dunno. Use logic, or visit arglefump on youtube.

If you have done the Chess game which Holt requests you to do, you should have looked into his duffel bag for the Chess Book. When you flip through that book look closely there will be a Bookmark in it, it will help you with the Light house door lock.

In other words, you are probably not supposed to look into the Light House until you have solved the Chess Game for Holt.
