I confess...started using wrinkle cream and dyed my hair...now my face is darker and my hair is wrinkled...whassup with that?

Mary, hit the link above at Amazon.com. Mr. Hillerman has also written non-fiction books and some may contain info about that area. You can read the editorials and reviews about some of his books...good luck!

Sadly, Mr. Hillerman died yesterday at the age of 83. He will be greatly missed, as will his superb writing both fiction and non-fiction. I will personally miss his Leaphorn and Chee mysteries. Google this man and you will find that he served in WWII, was awarded a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart...and so much more fascinating information...

You can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave!

Yes, he will be greatly missed by his fans.

PHOENIX (AP) Tony Hillerman, author of the acclaimed Navajo Tribal Police mystery novels and creator of two of the unlikeliest of literary heroes Navajo police officers Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee has died. He was 83.

Hillerman's daughter, Anne Hillerman, said her father's health had been declining in the last couple years and that he was at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque when he died of pulmonary failure Sunday.

Hillerman lived through two heart attacks and surgeries for prostate and bladder cancer. He kept tapping at his keyboard even as his eyes began to dim, as his hearing faded, as rheumatoid arthritis turned his hands into claws.

"I'm getting old," he declared in 2002, "but I still like to write."

Tony Hillerman wrote novels featuring Lt. Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee of the Navajo Tribal Police. The area they patrol is bounded in nothern Arizona, what was the large famous hole in the ground.

Like many of you, I badly missed my Tony Hillerman novels after Mr. Hillerman died. Just before he died he and I communicated and he reviewed a book I was writing, a legal thriller, entitled Wages of Greed, which was very much in the vein of his Leaphorn/Chee series. He liked it well enough to gave me written permission to invoke his name in the book's promotion.

Wages of Greed has now been published (Apr. 2015) and is available on Amazon/Kindle. I invite you to preview it on that service or on my website, www.stevenjclark.com
