Teaser Announcements

Various things come up from time to time that pertain only to Teasers but that I would like people to know about. If I am in need of an emergency Teaser Master, for example, this is the discussion I would use to find one. You can also post your own announcements in here that pertain only to the Teaser section. Other announcements would still be posted in the Social Lounge > Information Area > Announcements.

Short and unpronouncable ... and proud of it!!!

Sultry, Fran,

Personally, I think it would be good to put a link to the featured teaser back on the main page of MN. After all, that is what got new people in this part of the site before. Now with only a link to the teasers, they still have to figure out what all these different folders are about. You need to take them where you want them to be!

Secondly, I think that if you want to revive the teasers, 1 teaser a week isn't enough. If you ask people to host, there should be enough material for 2 or 3 new ones a week. What if it's an easy one and it gets solved in 3 days? You said it yourself: "Our new goal is NOT the "longest running teaser" but the most FUN and ACTIVE teaser!" So people can't ask questions for the rest of the week and that is not good for enthousiasme. And you guys know well enough that people don't go back to a teaser that has been running for a while that easily, they rather wait for a new one to appear.
Also, sometimes the storyline of the teaser doesn't interest me that much and I stop participating in that teaser (ok, I admit I often stop too because of time zones stuff, but that's not what I'm talking about now) so it would be good that pretty soon there is another teaser around that I can play in, instead of having to wait another week again.
One last argument for me is that if you are the teaser master, there is a chance that you can't play in other teaser for the entire time your teaser is running, just because there is no other one running at the time.

Of course, I can see that most of these arguments only stand if the teasers get more attention again ... I hope they made any sense anyway ...

~It is better to be hated for who you are, than liked for who you are not~

Hiya Gerdje!

The link question will have to go to Fran. :o)

On the one teaser a week issue. Unfortunately this is not what we WANT but there are practically no submissions. Submissions amounts are so small that for instance if Fran put up 3 this week and no one submitted any more this week also... there very likely would be NONE for next week....

Believe me, if people send in Teasers to host.. we would LOVE to post more new ones. We just don't *have* enough. :o(

Ideally we'll start getting enough that we can resume at least one new one a day!

And there should still always be a few different teasers running at a time. Afterall we have several up right now that are not finished...

I wasn't sending in new ones because Fran prefered to send a new one in after your previous one was solved. Yesterday I talked to Fran and sent her another one. I'm more than willing to host a few at the same time. Just let me know if you need any.

Maybe you should ask here and in announcements in the SL for hosts. I know you did that before and it got TM over here. Hey, I'm willing to give some stories I have to people who'd like to host and don't have any.

I completely understand why you have to do this Sultry, don't think I don't. I'm just trying to show that this can also demotivate people again. A long running teaser always slacks and looses solvers after a while (like the current ones do), new teasers always get more attention and that attention you have to keep in this part of the site.

The fourth wall has shattered...the smell of Black Death coffee lingers...the Gamemaster is BACK!

The link question? What about the Zelda question?

So what did happen to Jerry? :)

Mimi - 12:27pm Mar 28, 2001 PST(#154 of 1060)

I think what happened to Jerry is he smiled at Sultry and said, "Hubba hubba babe! I'll be your male maid any day!" When she said, "Okay, but you'll have to start by scrubbing all the toilets and cleaning the cobwebs out of the basement" he was so excited that he tripped over his big cowboy boots, hit his head on the sidewalk, and died. His cowboy boots were so big because everything is bigger in Texas :)

Or something like that.... :)

They say I'm crazy but I have a good time; I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime; Life's been good to me so far. (Eagles)

And the something very unusual was that a male offered to have anything to do with housekeeping!

That should get some commentary going over here!
