You can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave!

Marg, Hi

Isn't that The Clinic? I bought it but haven't read it yet. I'm really sorry to think he's going downhill, because he's one of my favorites. Haven't picked up The Web yet. I'll let you know what I think after reading Clinic.

Fran 8-)

And has anyone read Survival of the Fittest, his brand-new one? One person told me it was pretty good, but I haven't read it yet myself. Anyone else?

Marg. Fenton - 01:02am Dec 9, 1997 PST(#3 of 208)

Yep, Fran, you were right. It is _The Clinic_. Had him momentarily confused with John Grisham. Just tells you how much I enjoyed the book (not) that I can't even remember the title!!!

Please, please, please, don't tell me you bought _The Web_. I will be more than happy to send you a FREE copy, namely mine, in hardback no less. Would be glad to get rid of it. I hope you read it anyway, so you can see what I mean by "going downhill".

Jacques..I haven't bought _Survival_ yet. I'm kinda mad at him. Let me know if you've read _The Clinic_yet, and then I'll tell you what I mean.

Marg.

I wasn't very happy with The Web either but I thought that The Clinic was back up to par. Maybe it was just the setting and the strange storyline that made The Web unenjoyable. I know that it took just about everything in me to finish that book.

Lisa,

What is the plot of The Clinic? I read The Web unfortunately when I was eight months pregnant--so I thought it was just me. It was way too weird for me. That is why I have never read Andrew Vachys. I also thought everything did not tie in together well.

Maybe I'll try again.

Bye,

Eileen

Thanks for your messages!

Just a few thoughts...

I didn't like _The Web_ mainly because it read like a bad episode of the X Files. I like Kellerman the best when he sticks to what he knows-psychology. Lately he seems to be moving away from this subject as the basis of his books. His clinical work on child anxiety and illness were well written and inovative for the time 15 years ago. He seems to be branching into the realm of sci-fi to me.

Eileen, I can outline the plot of _The Clinic_ for you, if it won't spoil it! It's a little better than _The Web_.

Marg.

Eileen, The Clinic started out centering around a 4 month old case that Milo was working on. A professor and author who was known for her extremist views was murdered. Alex was called in to check out the husband and the university angle. A few people involved with her get killed. It was a lot better than The Web, not his best but not one of the worst.

Which book is everyone's favorite? Mine's _Time Bomb_. I thought it was the most suspenseful.

Marg.

Eileen Finnegan - 05:54pm Dec 20, 1997 PST(#9 of 208)

Hi Marg. and Lisa,

Okay, okay I will try _The Clinic_ then I'll tell you what I think.

I'll also have to try _Time Bomb_ to answer Marg.'s question. Right now I would have to say _Blood Test_. I thought Marg.'s comments hit the nail precisely on the head. With no new clinical work Kellerman delves into the psychological now only as a plot direction. The early work is better. I think he is now a writer as opposed to be a psychologist.

Have a great holiday everyone.

Eileen

I think Kellerman took a vacation to an island and wrote a book(theWeb) about it to get a tax deduction for the trip! Seriously, I have enjoyed most of his books. I caught part of an on-line chat with him on AOL. Most of his fans love Milo and would like to see more of his character. Kellerman has no plans to develop him further - he considers Milo comic relief! I was disappointed in that remark. I think Milo is often more intersting than Delaware.

Has anyone read Kellerman's newest, Survival of the Fittest? I received it as a gift and I've read a few chapters so far. It seems to be good so far -- better than his last two books The Web and The Clinic, both of which I didn't really care for. My favourite Kellerman book is Bad Love.
