hi,McBain fans. I am surprised about the number of Mcbain books in Belgium and France and the Netherlands in the bookshellfs in the stores. It must be that he is loved by so many readers and fans. I saw that there is a new 87-book in printing ,called THE LAST DANCE. Could it be the last 87th dance??I hope not.I am begging for more HOPE and 87th and other Mcbain's.For example the masterfull short story collections and the Evan Hunter/marsten/abboth/collins/cannon/hannon books. Can anyone tell me if he also wrote as Evans Hodge?? I wonder if these were his early-sins of his youth-works. Thanks for answering. And good reading. J.P.Engels BELGIUM P.S.Try also his latest Audio books-they are better then ever.

I've been enjoying the 87th Precinct Mysteries since 1993. However, the first McBain I ever read was 'Guns' in 1980 or something (when I was only 12, far too young for this novel). In the Netherlands this has been translated as 'I shot someone' (yegh!). I love the Matthew Hope novels (my favourite is Mary, Mary). Recently I read some very old novels: 'Big Man' and 'Runaway black'. Also very good! Does anyone know 'Even the Wicked' and 'Gangs'? I've heard of them but have never seen them in stores. Is it true that the last one is similar to 'Walk Proud'?

All Ed McBains books are my favorites. I especially like Steve Carella and Neyer Neyer. I just hope that Ed McBain keeps on writing and I'm looking forward to his next book.

My favorite Ed McCain book was the one about the magician and his wife who contrived the plot where it looked as though he were dead--i think she was meeting him in Australia at the end. does anyone recall the title?

I think it was Tricks. Marvellous book indeed!

Hi! I'm Italian and in my country it's not very easy to find the old novels by MCBain/Hunter. However, I read everything I was able to find (some of my favorite novels by Hunter are Last Summer and Every Little Crook and Nanny). Is there anyone who knows the COMPLETE list of McBain/Hunter's novels?

There are many web pages that list the books you want. Try www.ed.ac.wk/~utopia/interests/books as an example. It may not be complete but it is a start.

Just read Big Bad City. Brilliant as ever, but as usual the suspect confesses all when there was very little evidence. I would like the next book to show the suspect saying " OK prove it. Meanwhile get me a lawyer!"

Hi there - Does anyone have any info on McBain's to be final book "Exit". I have heard it will be released after his death (if only he was immortal) but would like to know if it reveals the identity of the ever elusive Deaf Man?
