Anyone reading this series about Sister Joan and the Daughters of Compassion? I just finished Vow of Adoration...any other recommended titles by this author?
Am a sucker for mystery set in England. Favorite is PD James and her Adam Dalgleish series; but close favorites are Colin Dexter and Elizabeth George. Just finished Andrew Taylor's latest village mystery featuring his detective, Richard Thornhill. I think there's only 2 books so far. I'm sure there are a lot of good series I'm missing. Any suggestions? Thanks, Pam
Dear Pam: There are so many British mystery series but I recommend Peter Robinson (Yorkshire), W.J. Burley (Cornwall), Dorothy Simpson (Kent), M.C. Beaton (two series..one in Cotswolds and one in Scotland), C.P.Roe (Scotland), John Sherwood (Botantical- England), Mary Clayton (Cornwall), Frances Fyfield (London). These are all series that are better read in order when possible. Enjoy!

I love finding new authors on the web and
the newsgroups. My favorite new author is Jane
Rubino, her two books "Death of a DJ" and
"Fruitcake". Really well-written, witty and
intelligent with the best cast of characters
I have come upon in a long time. I would put
these books on your "must-read" list.

For a great medical thillers that you won't be able to put down check-out Steven Spruill's Before I Wake, My Soul To Take, Rulers Of Darkness and Daughter Of Darkness.
Janelle,
Have you heard of my new medical-legal thriller, _Chain of Custody_? Read more about it and a new author at:
http://www.randomhouse.com/atrandom/articles/hle0598/hle0598.html
No, Harry I haven't heard of Chain Of Custody. But I'll go directly to random house as soon as I'm through here. Has anyone read Edna Buchanan? She writes Britt Montero mysteries. I'm about to start her newest book Pulse.
Harry! I read the excerpt of Chain Of Custody! And it's my kind of book! I'll definitely will read it! Thanks, Janelle
I love Dean Koontz toooo!!!. The first book I read by him was Strange Highways, and it seemed to be about reallly weird things like people who travel in between different dimensions. One book I read by him, I forgot the name of it,was about this guy who psychically knew when something tragic was going to happen, and he would just drop everything and fly to that city and save the lives of the people involved. He also had a book about these dead aliens that were in a space craft in the desert out west somewhere, and some people began having strange experiences, and finally they all got together and some of them discovered the bodies. Also, there was a book that he wrote about this woman who discovered an alien in a spaceship, and this one was dead too. All of a sudden, she got the strange compulsion to go dig in her backyard and she ended up going crazy by the time she discovered the spaceship. I like Dean Koontz, but I think Stephen King is even better because Koontz tends to moralize a little bit too much for my tastes, and King tends to write more about the supernatural, instead of things that could possibly have a logical explanation someday when we discover a little bit more about science. I love how King always writes about demons, abusive husbands, and the women who get revenge on them.... Kinda makes you wonder what kind of upbringing he had, huhqqq.
