Looking for name of a mystery
I'm trying to find out the name of a film I saw back in the theater in 1989 or 1990. It was a mystery that had something to do with oil on the west coast, maybe something about buying up beach land in order to drill for oil, or something about sand and oil in some sense I can't quite remember. I was young and didn't understand it... I want to watch it again and see what I think this time. Would it be possible to find lists of films released during various years with synopses?

Thanks, Mike

Looking for a PI movie I saw in the early 90s or so. About a married PI with a drop dead gorgeous secratary. There is a scene where she is lying on a rug in his office, he's looking down at her and thinks, any smart man who looked at her lying there would know enought to stay the heck away, then he thinks "no man's that smart". Double crosses from secratary and her lover, Ends up trapped with disgusting, obnoxious rich woman who he can't stand at end of movie (she loves him and has the goods on him). I would love to know the title and details may be ausi or indie production. The movie has a number of plot twists and turns and it's not a comedy despite the ironic ending.

You can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave!

Sounds interesting. Hope you find out the name. Any big name actors in it?

LOOKING FOR A TV MYSTERY MOVIE NAME This was a 70s era TV mystery starring Suzanne Pleshette as the wife a research scientist who was killed in a lab accident. She believed that one of her husband's fellow scientists, who did not know her, was responsible. For revenge she struck up a romantic relationship with him then faked her own death framing him as her killer. She went so far as to have her fillings removed and placed them in her bathtub drain and splattered sulphuric acid on the bathroom carpet to make it appear that he had killed her and dissolved her body. HELP!!!
