Any mystery organizations, or people interested in starting one in the Charlotte, NC area?

Richard Busenkell - 04:19pm Apr 10, 1998 PST(#7 of 49)

To Derek Johnson in Austin -- I don't know of any mystery clubs in Austin, but I would suggest you might get a thrill, as well as information about local clubs, by visiting the University of Texas in Austin, where replicas of the studios of several famous writers are set up. The most famous of these is that of Erle Stanley Gardner, creator of Perry Mason and the greatest of American mystery writers. This replica studio uses the actual furnishings of Gardner's cabin on his ranch in the town of Temecula, CA. By arrangement with Gardner, these furnishings were donated to the University of Texas, and were removed to Austin following Gardner's death in 1970. You should be able to pick up leads about Austin-area mystery clubs there.

You, and others, might like to check out the website of a brand-new mystery club specifically devoted to Gardner, called "Uncle Erle's Mystery Club." It's so new it isn't listed in the major directories yet, although it has been submitted to them. (They take two or three weeks to process submissions.)You can visit it directly at its website: http://users.vmicro.com/erlesclub.

Good luck, and I hope you find lots of fellow mystery lovers.

Peter Moore - 01:05am Apr 30, 1998 PST(#11 of 49)

Does anybody knows mysterys in Portugal?

BLMcA - 12:49pm Apr 30, 1998 PST(#12 of 49)

Peter--I haven't found web-mystery-Portugal stuff all tied together, but if you'll settle for a Portuguese-speaking country, you might be interested in the Agatha Christie site in Brazil. Also, if you'll settle for the Iberian penninsula, I've seen (somewhere) evidence of a site in Spain that must surely refer to mysteries in Spain.
