I'm out searching for myself. If I come back before I get back, tell me to stay here.

Well, I suppose it doesn't matter where we take it since I seem to have scared everyone away with my, er, antisociality. ;-)

"Fragile. Do not drop." - Found on Boeing 757

Oh yes, you're like me. I get called antisocial all the time... why? I make sure to say at least 50 words a day! (But no more than 250, otherwise, I'll explode)

Wow, 50? I only managed that much when I was in law... ;-)

them's the breaks breaks breaks

actually Dave I don't see a real problem..

sure there are groups who interract more with each other but I have never seen them exclude anyone else from joining in. Obviously until you know someone better you are (or should be) more careful with what you say which could look a little standoffish to an outsider..

and Mimi I actually disagree with this "I think another problem is when people use the common chat folders just to talk about planning the next gathering, or talking about the last one, it kind of excludes all the other people who weren't there."..I think the fact that it is all out in the open INCLUDES everyone else in the topic which is a really friendly way to go. Would you prefer they made comments to each other as hints thereby excluding everyone else. Don't you find it annoying when people refer to something you know nothing about ? (I do it occasionally, I understand it BUT it still makes me feel left out ..but then sometimes I'm over sensitive I guess)

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. ee cummings

(((((Dave)))))) Never give in. ;)

Garry, I disagree somewhat with your last post. I think many comments are made between people that exclude others that are not "in the know." It crosses my mind on occassion why this is so when many of these same people are ym-ing or what have you. Some exclusive comments I would consider natural and normal but I can see where a frequent number would leave others feeling left out.

Quantum physicists, who examine the Universe at a subatomic level, have concluded that SOMETHING FISHY IS GOING ON HERE !!

...Frankly, I don't see any cliques on MN. Any time I try to join any type of conversation (Other than the Adults folder of course) I'm welcomed and included. If it seems certain people are always talking to each other it's probably just time zones etc.

daffodil - 03:33am Jul 1, 2001 PST(#237 of 1770)

Dave; I think I understand what you mean.

What Oren said is perfectly true; You're always welcomed in a new conversation by some friendly souls[s].

Still, there's always the feeling of invisability in some folders.

Don't let it depress you. Don't even THINK about not coming here again!

I'm serious! I'll come and drag you back, you hear!

We can't do without you (((((((Dave))))))))

"I can't do it all on my own, I'm no Superman" - Scrubs Theme

I finally get it! (I think)

And I see what you mean Dave. Because of all of the special divisions at MN, there are those that only post or sub to certain places pertaining to them, otherwise they would be pulled too many places. And, because of this, we sometimes don't see those people around alot.

Still, there are ways around it, as complex as they may be, and I think that trying to change the way MN is put together might actually be more complex than the complexities of going around the problem.

But, that's just what I think...

And don't you ever feel left out Dave! If you do, I'll hunt you down and hug you to death! ;)
