Quincy M.E.

Susan Christoffersen

Haven't seen Quincy in years but this type of mystery was always a favorite; felt as though I learned a lot just from reading them. I would guess that fans of this show would also enjoy the Patricia Cornwell books, as I do. Anybody out there?

MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION: WHAT WAS QUINCY'S FIRST NAME?

ANSWER: The only clue the audience was ever provided about Quincy's first name occurred (in the episode "Accomplice to Murder") when he handed a battered housewife his business card sharp-eyed viewers noted the card identified him as "R. Quincy".

We love Quincy. We try to get our lunch breaks to watch a whole episode (they are still being shown here in UK). Does anyone know his first name though? (We think it is Robert)

Diane, I don't think it was ever revealed. However, I did find this tidbit on the net:

"Quincy's first name was never revealed, though a business card seen briefly in one episode gives one hint. It read "R. Quincy."

And....this from a Klugman interview: "When he hears there's one more important question left in the interview, Klugman responds, "Not the first name!" Clearly Quincy's mysterious one-name identity has come up before.

"People tell me there was a show where I presented a card -- I don't remember that show," he says. "But what happened was just 'Dr. Quincy' for recognition. And then we started to get publicity: 'What's his first name?' So we milked that curiosity. He never had a first name as far as I knew."

Hi, I am so glad that Quincy is on our screens again in the UK, it is myfavourite programme of all time, I was very lucky 4 years ago to meet Jack after a theatre show in London, he is wonderful. Id love to hear from other fans. Best wishes Jackie

Does anyone else think that there's something weird going on with detectives who don't want people to know their first names? ie. Inspector Morse. Maybe Quince's name is something really unusual - my vote's for Rupert!

Hi,

Quincy is simply the best tv show ever. I first started watching Quincy about 20 years back... and always make sure not to miss the repeats!! I have recently lost my job due to running out of excuses for not being there when I was watching Quincy!!!!

But who needs money or drugs when we got Quincy to watch? Also, has anyone got any Quincy episodes in VCD/mpeg format? Id be pleased to know, Ive included my email..
