OK, now, did they really kill off Mulder? They couldn't have. I think Scully risked losing her job by covering for Mulder while he investigates the conspiracies.

Islandgirl, completely agree! It was the magical chemistry between Muldur and Skully against the world so to speak and some great script writing that made X-Files. With one or the other and both gone, it simply was not the X-Files we eargerly awating to come on each week.
Some TV shows successfully switch out cast without disturbing the chemistry - M*A*S*H and Law & Order or two that come to mind, but usually it spells disaster.
Wonder if Duchovny's career will, like David Caruso's, take a dump after leaving X-Files?

Although, David Caruso stars on another extremely popular show - CSI: Miami. However, I don't like him as much as William Petersen on CSI: Crime Scene Investigators.
I live just outside of chicago and 4pm meant stop and watch the x-files. That was then and this is now. TNT in all its wisdom decided to delete x-files and replace it with JUDGING AMY...I HAVE JUDGED AMY..IT STI HAS A DECIDED AROMMMMMA. Have watched xf for 9 years original and don't remember how many reruns. Why do stations do this to us fans. I AM MAD......

There can be no triumph without loss… no victory without suffering… no freedom without sacrifice… (from TROTK trailer) True words even for today.
I LOVE the x-files. I still watch reruns and have bought all the Season DVDs that have come out to date.

In episode 9x17 William when Jeffrey Spender appears and turns Scully's son, William normal why did Chris Carter have Scully give him up why couldn't he have Scully just take William and go into hiding?
