Hemingway Deadlights is the first book in a series of mysteries in which Ernest Hemingway is engaged with solving a murder at various points in his long and tumultuous biography.

The first book is set in 1956 Key West, post-Nobel, and his drunken, writer-blocked efforts to find out who killed a drinking buddy bring him to Fidel Castro and the CIA.

The second book, coming in 2010, HEMINGWAY CUTTHROAT, is set in 1937, as Hemingway and John Dos Passos investigate the very real (and unsolved) murder of Jose Robles.

Michael Atkinson is a writer in New York and a longtime past journalist for The Village Voice and the author of six books. This is his first novel.
