Holmes and Watson shared a briar
Columbo kept cheroots in his rumpled attire
Even Hercule Poirot was not above it
Nay, these great sleaths all seemed to love it
Whatever will happen to our favorite detectives
When we abandon the motto "Live and let live"?
Will Sam Spade still roll his by hand
once "No Smoking" is the law of the land?
