The author of works such as Green For Danger and London Particular, Christianna Brand is listed among many mystery writers favourites. To the public at large, however she is not as well known as some of her contemperaries. So does anyone else admire this wonderful writer as much as I do?

A stranger is a friend you have yet to meet

I've only read "Suddenly at his residence". I liked it well enough but had problems finding any more books by her here in Sweden. And then I guess I forgot about her. But now that you've reminded me I'll start looking for her again. :-)

Never hire a ferret to do a weasel's job

London Particular is another good one by Brand. Same detective as Green for Danger, Inspector C0ckerel, and set in London in the midst of a heavy fog...

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, and feels like a duck... but it's actually a rabbit-lay off the asparin...

Has anyone here read "Death In High Heels" My amazon says it is "Erotic Fiction" but that diesn't sound right for CB!

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Ms. Brand's novels I've been able to find - Death in High Heels; Green for Danger; Cat and Mouse; Fog of Doubt (aka London Particular); and Tour de Force.

Death in High Heels is not Erotic Fiction - it deals with a murder at a dress shop.

The part I enjoy most about her novels (and the most iritating) is that she usually states (truthfully) about 1/3 of the way through that you have enough knowledge to solve the mystery but then it takes the rest of the novel (for me anyway) to realize what the clues were.

Does anyone know any other novels by her.
