Word Snakes

Created by Stevie B

In this puzzle, the host posts a list of crossword type clues (cryptic or general, a maximum of 10) where the solutions will create a "snake" of overlapping letters when placed in the correct order -- the last two (or more) letters of one word start the next word. The first player to complete the solution (if the snake is assembled but only lacks one word, simply guessing that word, with or without posting the completed snake, constitutes solving) wins the next turn.
Hosts, please number your clues. Players, please indicate what clue you’re guessing at.

Example:
1. what heaven can do
2. a tricky one is red
3. metalworker's implement
4. theater worker
5. capital city
6. wilderness

Solution: BUsHerrIngOttaWait
(the individual words are: wait, herring, ingot, usher, ottawa, bush)

As you notice, the H was used three words in a row. This is fine. It isn't ok to use a letter from two words back if it wasn’t used in the last word. For example, Motherefore - where the words are Mother, Here, Therefore - is an invalid snake.

All the usual P&S guidelines apply. These Tips and Resources can help you to create a new puzzle. If you have questions regarding hosting and posting, check out the FAQ. Have fun!

That reminds me of Sonny's niece, Shirley. When she was ten the school drama group was going to produce a play on the life of Galileus. Ten students were dressed in different colors to represent the earth and the planets. She was given red for Mars, but she wanted to be dressed in white, for the brightest star, Dog Star. She complained so much that the teacher, exasperated, told her, "Dog star? Shirley, you can't be Sirius!"
