(8@D)======> The WINDS of change are inevitable...but then...so is the Power of Love......TORNADO WARNING: Some people are sheltered,,,,,, and then,,,,,, I unshelter them

The threat of virus attacks is becoming even more prevalent as evidenced by the rash of alerts being posted in ANNOUNCES. In an attempt to preserve the quality and population of the MN community this folder is created to help centralize the reporting of viruses, patches and weed out hoaxes.

Below you will find some popular links to sites dedicated to providing patches and debunking hoaxes. As new viruses are launched please check the links as well as the posts for help in protecting your computer.

We wish to thank the diligence of the MN community in posting recent VIRUS ALERTS. In so doing several members have averted being infected and in @ least one case was infected but was able to delete within the hour and avoid being victimized.

RATSLOL Fran

I don't have text access but get the text spams. Since I am on sis' family plan don't get the bill so don't know if those unwanted texts are charged.

You can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave!

I pay for a text if I send one. My daughter, who is on my plan, has unlimited texting on her phone. I don't think you pay if you receive one, but I would check it out.

Depends on who you are with. I have US Cellular and anything incoming is free, but I pay a quarter a text if I send them. I have no desire to pay $20 extra a month to send a few texts.

Thwart. Thwart thwart thwart thwart thwart. Wow, say a word enough times and it really sounds silly.

You can report unwanted texts to your carrier by forwarding the message to SPAM (on ATT anyway) and then they ask for the number it came from. It's a free text.

I would not even know how to do that, lol!

On Monday, some computers may become affected by a malware that was placed there some time ago. Up until now, the FBI has stepped in and hired a firm to protect infected computers. That will end on Monday and if your computer is one of those that had been infected, you will now be without protection and are at increased security risk. The page I am going to put a link to will help you find out if you are infected and also has links to some Internet Providers who are helping customers. You could have this malware and would not know it and won't know it until Monday when affected computers will become vulnerable. Take a minute to see if your computer is among those affected.
