The Poet Tree

Welcome to MysteryNet's virtual coffeehouse! This is a place to sip espressos, nibble on cookies, and enjoy friendly conversation as we listen to MNer's share their original poetry.

There will be organized poetry readings all day Sunday. Of course, you are free to post poetry anytime!

The only house rule is that you say only kind things about the poetry that is shared. This is a place to encourage fellow writers, and with your help I hope it will become a "happening hang-out." :o)

Enjoy!

My grandmother was (is) a quiet woman.. My Oma on the other hand.. She's going to live forever because she's too stubborn to let go.. I mean, if the Grimm Reaper ever came, she'd probably scare him witless..

The opposite of fate is hope...

  • taking your silence as an anxious awating of what is to come rather than a quiet quick exit out of the tree ;o)

    So? This is love.

    Say,
    you love me,
and i can be your peaches and primal scream
    good girl
with teeth clenched around a rose
    and eyes flashing.
    we could tango.
    you could kiss my blood
red lips. Tell me how dark and beautiful my
    black eyes
    are. You can make me moan;
    Do you remember last night?
    You put me down
    Breaths came quick loud
    "please please please.
    Oh God... have mercy."
    You can hold me
    down
    so i can push you
    up. Yours
    is a balancing act
love that tips Lady Justice's scales.
    She doesn't notice though,
she's blind to even the fact
    she's nude
    and we've covered her up.

I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

    (((Kermit)))

"I can't do it all on my own, I'm no Superman" - Scrubs Theme

In a million years I never thought
That I could be so caught
    Up in a single moment
    That I could be frozen
    Like an image in time

In all the time we knew each other I
Never thought that I could sigh
In memories of me and you
Tell me you feel it too
    Like pure rapture and I'm

Holding out for the moment when
The memories will still, and then
Like the wind in my wings
    Or the cherub who sings
You will lift me so high

Like the time when we met in the rain
The sun was stolen away again
    By the clouds hovering above
And then you showed me love
And I didn't see you cry
