What makes you download a free Kindle book?

Writes mystery novels, short stories, column-Las Vegas Examiner (Books and Writing)

Recently my mother's heartwarming memoir, "Can We Come In and Laugh, Too?" was free for a few days and thousands of copies were downloaded. The purchases continued afterwards, and it has been very gratifying.

On July 11-12 the Kindle edition of my short story collection "The MAFIA FUNERAL and Other Short Stories" will be free, and I'd love to know what motivates you to download a free book. There are many award-winning stories in this collection, and I've also written award-winning mystery novels, so what would pique your curiosity?

Mostly knowing about it. I don't have a real kindle, but have the app on my ipod. I don't read too many books that way, but during the school year it is more convenient than carrying around a huge book. The few books I have downloaded were just impulse things. I read a wide variety of stuff and like to try out new things.

You can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave!

If something sounds interesting to me, whatever the topic, and it is free - why wouldn't I download it? So, I guess a review or good description would be the most important factor for me.

I downloaded the book, but kindle keeps telling me there is an error. According to kindles reviews it is something on their end and not an issue with the book. Hopefully they will get it fixed so I can take a look at it.

A birth certificate shows you were born. A death certificate shows you have died. A photo album shows you have lived.

The information on site about the book and the reviews from other readers if any. :O)
