Sword Words

Adapted by Stevie B

Crossword fans amongst you might have noticed that Sword is an anagram of Words. This is the motive behind this game, which was inspired by the puzzles of David J Bodycombe. The idea is to post a clue that should lead to words or phrases that are anagrams of each other. Please indicate the number of letters for each word in the solution in parentheses. If the words are part of a sentence, the first holes should be an anagram of the last holes, they should not be in random order. The first player to complete the solution wins the next turn.

Example: An extra weapon(5, 5)
Solution: Spare spear

Example: He went to the (6,4) aisle (3) a (5,2) his favorite snacks.
Solution: He went to the (frozen food) aisle (for) a (dozen of) his favorite snacks.

All the usual P&S guidelines apply. These Tips and Resources can help you to create a new puzzle. If you have questions regarding hosting and posting, check out the FAQ. Have fun!

And now I suppose I have to make 'lunatic' and 'wager' into a word?

And now I suppose I have to make 'lunatic' and 'wager' into a word? That would be so, yes. Let's just say felines might be involved.

The CATERWAULING seemed incessant, and Tim thought he must have been a LUNATIC to make that WAGER.

Over to you, Rik.

"So, Blofeld. I suppose this time you're going to try to kill me immediately?"
"No, Mr Bond, I'm not. I've taken the precaution of keeping my beehives next to my nuclear reactors and... well... you're going to eat 8 5 on toast, and you will most certainly 3 7 3. Bwhahahahahaha!"
