Punny Titles
Created by Anthony Bault and Stevie B In this puzzle, the host posts either a fake news story or a question and players try to identify a popular saying or a well known title (book, film, song, etc.). Brief fake articles tend to draw more guesses than long ones and while red herrings can be fun, having too many in the article can lead to a slow down in participation. Please indicate whether the article or question posted points to a common phrase/saying or to a title and what sort-- book, movie, song, etc. The first person to complete the solution wins the next turn.
Example: A news blurb about a racer named Hugo who's won a race.(Phrase)
Solution: "Hugo First!"
The saying or title indicated may be entirely unaltered or tweaked just a bit, but be careful not to get too clever.
Example: What did the florist say when she discovered that she had been robbed? (Song)
Solution: "Where have all the flowers gone?"
Example: How shouldn't one tell Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second that she will require a raincoat? (book)
Solution: "Mac, Beth"
All the usual P&S guidelines apply. These Tips and Resources can help you to create a new puzzle. If you have questions regarding hosting and posting, check out the FAQ. Have fun!
